About TISI certification
TISI certification is a mandatory or voluntary certification conducted by the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) in accordance with the Industrial Product Standards Act to determine whether the product complies with the Thai national standard (TIS standard).
◆ Mandatory certification: Key products involving safety, health and environmental protection, such as electrical equipment, medical equipment, building materials, etc., must pass TISI certification to enter the Thai market.
◆ Voluntary certification: Applicable to non-mandatory products, such as some home appliances, textiles, etc. Enterprises can voluntarily apply to enhance the market competitiveness of the brand and enhance consumer trust in the brand.
Thailand TISI Certification Process
1. Determine the product scope: Enterprises need to confirm whether their products need TISI certification. Different products may need to comply with different Thai national standards.
2. Information preparation: The applicant provides importer information and product information;
3. Submit application: Submit test and factory inspection application in accordance with TISI requirements;
4. Sample testing and factory audit: Samples are sent to Thai laboratories for testing, and Thai auditors conduct on-site factory inspections;
5. Certificate issuance: When both the test and the factory inspection are passed, the TISI certificate and product QR code are issued.
