YD/T 2583.18-2024 "Electromagnetic Compatibility Performance Requirements and Measurement Methods for Cellular Mobile Communication Equipment Part 18: 5G User Equipment and Auxiliary Equipment" (hereinafter referred to as "the new standard") has been implemented since October 1, 2024, replacing YD/T 2583.18-2019 (hereinafter referred to as "the old standard").
In order to ensure the effective implementation of the compulsory product certification system, China Quality Certification Center (CQC) has notified the relevant requirements of the new version of the standard to be implemented as follows according to the Technical Resolution on the Implementation of YD/T 2583.18-2024 Standard Edition Certification issued by TC 10 EMC Technical Expert Group of CNCA:
1. From October 1st, 2024, CQC will accept the application with the new version of the standard and issue the relevant standard certification certificate.
2. For the vehicle-mounted 5G user equipment, the holder of the old standard certification certificate shall submit the application for standard version replacement to the relevant certification bodies in time, and complete the product confirmation and certificate renewal according to the new standard after the implementation date of the standard and before the end of the first follow-up inspection. The conversion of all old standard certificates should be completed by September 30, 2025 at the latest; If the certificate is not completed within the time limit, the certification body will suspend the old version of the standard certification certificate (note: during the suspension of the certificate, the product cannot be sold in the market, and if the certificate needs to be used continuously, an application for certificate recovery/standard edition replacement shall be submitted); For the certification certificate that has not been converted on December 30, 2025, the certification body will revoke the old version of the standard certification certificate (note: the revoked certificate cannot be reapplied within half a year of the same model).
3. For other issued certificates except the vehicle-mounted 5G user equipment, the detection standard of the certificate is converted by natural transition methods such as product change and certificate renewal upon expiration. After obtaining the certificate, the supervision shall be carried out according to the standard version listed in the valid certification certificate.
4. In Chapter 8.8 of the new standard, the limit value of electrical transient conducted disturbance is changed, and the transient conducted disturbance needs to be measured for the vehicle-mounted 5G user equipment. 5. Certified products that have been put on the market before October 1, 2024 and are no longer produced need not be replaced.
6. The implementation of the new standard does not exempt the relevant products from the responsibility of complying with the relevant provisions of the Standardization Law of People's Republic of China (PRC).
